About Us
The GVWC is a non-profit organisation staffed by volunteers and is a member of the Victorian Regional Welfare Centres network (VRWC). The VRWC is recognised by the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) which is very supportive and has a close working relationship with the various member organisations.
Our Officers abide by a strict code of conduct as laid down by the DVA of which one is the assurance of your privacy and confidentiality.
Also because of the Privacy Act we cannot initiate contact (such as hospital visits) without your consent/invitation.
This service is provided free of charge to you, the veteran (and your family.) We do get some assistance from the Federal Government through the BEST Funding Grants but as we are a volunteer organisation we also have to raise extra funding by ourselves so donations are greatfully appreciated.
